Boy With a Knife catered our wedding at the UBC Boathouse in May 2019. We were absolutely blown away by every aspect of our experience with them and they were a huge part of making our day completely perfect. To start with, Chef Brandon created a menu from scratch, incorporating local ingredients and a west coast theme, because we wanted to showcase our home for friends and family from afar. We loved the menu and the incredible details in every dish, from our tasting and menu concept all the way to our guests being served, every little detail was thought of. The team was so helpful with organizing food and drinks from every angle, and they were just so responsive, accommodating emails, phone calls and text messages at times that worked for us. On the day of the wedding, they were friendly, professional, and so smooth. A month later guests are still talking about how delicious, fresh and HOT their food was that day. People have been asking left and right for our caterer’s details. Food was a huge concern for us- we really wanted great food and great music to centre our celebration around and I think BWAK delivered 100%. I can’t say enough good things about BWAK and will absolutely use them for any and all future events. You would be crazy not to hire these guys!

Boy with a Knife was much more than just a caterer when it came to our wedding reception. They went above and beyond in every aspect of planning, leaving the reception day to be stress free. From the first point of contact with Joey, they were exceptional. We wanted an “elevated food truck” appetizers only, cocktail party and boy did they deliver!! The day-of was a breeze thanks to the staff, they outdid themselves in every way. They had the best sense of humours and personalities and fit well with our guests. They were very professional and hard working. All the small but important details they helped with, such as setting up tables that we weren’t able to get to, to going around and lighting 100 candles, to asking my husband and myself if we wanted a plate made.It’s the little things that made a big difference and I honestly can’t thank them enough. My biggest thanks is to Joey! He is an absolute gem! He was so easy and refreshing to deal with. He gave his personal opinions and experiences to help plan our perfect day. We changed a couple things a few times and he didn’t complain once. He went out of his way multiple times and it didn’t go unnoticed. I seriously can’t say enough good things about him, he’s a legend. I will recommend them to anyone that has an event to plan, they will not be disappointed.
