They were full of sincere smiles, and were attentive and ‘on it’ without being stuffy.  I had requested a vegetarian / vegan meal, and they went over and above to create a beautiful, DELICIOUS spread. I couldn’t stop photographing the bar, the appies, the vegan taco buffet… it was SO beautiful!  I chuckled every time one of our guests asked me “ok so THIS is vegan too??!” I proudly nodded.. yes, yes it is. All of our guests are still raving over a month later about how they have never had such fantastic food at a wedding, and beyond that, that it was one of the best dinners they’ve ever had. This is especially important to me as a vegetarian with carnivorous guests. “On August 29th, 2015 I married the love of my life at the beautiful Dr Sun Yat Sen Garden.  August 29th, 2015 was also recorded in Vancouver history as the worst weather storm to hit the Lower Mainland in the past decade but we didn’t notice a single rain drop or gust of wind because BWAK was beyond prepared for everything that Mother Nature threw our way. In five simple words, it was the perfect day!

In the months leading up to our extra special day, BWAK met with us at our convenience to go through every little detail and made sure to make our wedding weather proof too.

They thought outside the box and helped us create a truly unique and delicious menu that blended our favorite childhood foods and culture with contemporary dishes that met our taste.  Our guests shared that it was the best food they had ever experienced at a wedding and we can’t help but agree.  We can’t wait to call BWAK when we have our one year wedding anniversary and for every other celebrated life event!”

Since our big day two wedding guests have called on BWAK for events for EA Sports and a fundraiser for the Liberal Party attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“The BWAK team is talented, fresh and very professional. From my experience, they go above and beyond to make the event a success and think of beautiful finishing touches, without being prompted. I am a micro-manager, so of course I chatted through what I wanted things to look like, and they are 100% on the same page, if not one step ahead. They have an eye for design and providing that finishing touch to each dish and to overall presentation of their food. They are on trend with menu selection and will share a tasting menu with you. Their food is amazing!

Personal Event: BWAK catered my wedding and I never had to step in to remind them of the schedule – which is literally the best situation you can have. They provided insight and suggestions to improve the menu and changed items based on feedback, after a tasting – no attitude or issue. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and usually worthy of being on a magazine cover (sorry, but sometimes that is important to people).

Corporate Event: BWAK catered and managed some event aspects of a logistically challenging long table dinner for an elite group of women athletes and Editors and Chefs from NYC, at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. The event was outdoors, and the kitchen was a LONG walk from the long table that was on the top a hill – the service was perfectly timed and executed. To be honest, BWAK was the only part of the event that went off without a hitch. They were selected personally by Nike (the client) from a list of Vancouver caterers – says a lot!

Long story short, I will use them again and always recommend them to friends and clients looking for a talented catering company.”
